Edinburgh is packed full of amazing photoshoot locations, whether it’s for family photography, headshots, business portraits or personal brand photography, we are just so spoilt for choice here! I have a few firm favourites that I use a lot for photoshoots but there are so many more!
The old town in Edinburgh lends itself well to portraiture, especially the colourful Grassmarket and Victoria Terrace. A short walk in one direction and you have the lush Princes Street Gardens or in the opposite direction, the stunning backdrop of Arthurs Seat and the Salisbury Crags.
Seasonal Locations
In the winter months I tend to head to the beach – it looks good in all weathers! or I head for beautiful Calton Hill with its breath-taking views from any angle! The gardens at Saughton Park also work well in the winter with the colourful grasses and quaint bandstand.
SPRING
Spring opens up so many options… with the woods being top choice for the snowdrops and bluebells that start to appear. But I love a wildflower meadow too and the park at Davidson Mains has an amazing one. Lauriston Castle Gardens has a lovely grounds… plus a pretty orchard of apple blossom too! …not to mention the view over the Firth of Forth.
SUMMER
Summer locations tend to focus around the many East Lothian beaches – some are super secluded and can feel as if you are the only ones there!
AUTUMN
The Botanic Gardens are a favourite of mine in the autumn, but I can’t resist the fabulous woods at Cammo or Dalkeith Country Park. The colours there are just stunning… no filters required! So, once you have decided that brand photography is for you, where would you choose?
