It is so crowded in the online space these days!
You only have a matter of seconds to catch your ideal clients attention long enough to stop that scroll!
It can feel daunting and we often put it off, but there are many ways to stand out online in business… try a few of these to get you started:
- The most important thing you can do to stand out online is to make sure that you have a high-quality service or product. If your products or services are excellent, word will spread and you’ll start to attract more customers.
- Build a strong brand: Your brand should reflect the values and personality of your business. Consistency is key, so make sure all the places you hang out online (your website, social media, blog posts etc.) are on-brand.
- Connect with your audience: Social media is a great way to connect with your ideal customers and build a community around your business. Use it to start conversations, engage with your followers, share updates and promotions.
- Whether it’s blog posts, infographics, or videos, making sure that you share good quality content, that resonates with your ideal client, will help you to stand out online. It will not only help you attract more visitors to your website but it will also improve your search engine rankings.
- Utilize search engine optimization (SEO): SEO is the process of optimizing your website to rank higher in search engine results. If you use specific targeted keywords and phrases, you will make it so much easier for people to find you online.
- Offer excellent customer service: Good customer service can help attract more business through word of mouth and in groups where people are looking for recommendations. Respond to customer inquiries quickly and find ways to go above and beyond with your customer journey, especially when resolving issues.
- Network and collaborate with others: Building relationships with other businesses and industry professionals is one of my favourite ways to stand out. Attending regular networking meet-ups, offering to be a guest speaker for events or to write guest blogs are all great ways to increase exposure for your business.
Above all, it is best not to get so overwhelmed with what you should be doing, and just focus on doing one thing.
One thing at a time and build it up slowly.
There is no quick fix, it takes time.
Work out which channels work best for you and your business and focus on those. Don’t put too much effort into a channel because you think you should or because someone told you to… look at the stats and make the choice based on the facts.
